While the domestic tourism market is “plummeting” due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the renowned F1 Vietnam Grand Prix, partnered with MIKGroup, is predicted to be the “lifesaver” that helps the Vietnamese tourism overcome the crisis.

F1 Vietnam is “immune” to coronavirus
The 2020 Vietnamese Grand Prix will officially start in just more than a month. However, facing the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic, which is breaking out in countries around the world, many people are showing concerns that the F1 race may be delayed. It is a relief when the CEO of F1 confirmed that the race at My Dinh will take place as planned, soothing the concerns that the F1 Vietnam Grand Prix may follow China and cancel the race due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
This is good news for motorsports enthusiasts, who are looking forward to the latest race of the F1 World Championship which is soon to take place in Vietnam for the first time.

After nearly one year of construction since March 2019, the F1 racing track is 95% complete
According to a field survey, until now, all preliminary work and infrastructure for F1 Vietnam Grand Prix are 95% complete. It is expected that everything will be handed over to FIA in March 2020 as scheduled and ready for the world's largest race first held in Vietnam from April 3-5, 2020.

“Lifesaver” from a tourism cooperation agreement
It is an indisputable fact that Vietnam is eager to host an F1 race. In particular, while Vietnam tourism is taking a heavy toll due to the Covid-19 epidemic, holding a world-famous event like F1 is the fastest way to recover after the tourism industry was hit hard by the increasing number of tourists canceling trips to Vietnam.
Considering the F1 race a golden opportunity to advertise Vietnam tourism to people all over the world. Recently, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the host company - Vietnam Grand Prix Limited Liability Company (VGPC) have signed a Cooperation Agreement for the 2020-2025 period with a view to promoting Vietnam tourism and the Hanoi F1 race to the world.
According to the agreement, Vietnam Grand Prix will participate as an enterprise in events of promoting Vietnam tourism held abroad by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism at international fairs and tourism programs. This is part of the strategy to promote the development of car racing, the most attractive motorsport on the planet, thereby promoting Vietnam as a must-visit destination on the world map.

Vietnam being the 22nd country in the world hosting the F1 race was voted as one of 10 outstanding culture, tourism, and sports events in 2019 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It also creates significant momentum for Vietnam tourism to “soar” after the prolonged epidemic crisis. Not only making Vietnam a host nation for the world’s most prestigious sports but F1 Vietnam Grand Prix, a combination of tradition and modernity, is also promised to honor the cultural and historical values of the nation as well as spread those values around the world.
Bearing the mission of taking the lead in creating world-class constructions with superior quality, and building a sustainable and reputable Vietnamese brand in the region and the world, MIKGroup and VGPC share a common vision and join hands in promoting the image of a modern Vietnam and Hanoi - the capital of a thousand years of civilization through the F1 race in Vietnam.

Regarding the influence of F1 race on Vietnam tourism, a representative of MIKGroup, co-hosting the event with F1, said: “Facing serious impacts of the epidemic, such professional, attractive, and world-class events like F1 race will be ‘lifesavers’ that help Vietnam tourism overcome the crisis and maintain the travelers’ trust in Vietnam as a safe and friendly destination. The event will not only build up Vietnam’s reputation as a destination of the world’s leading sports events but also be an opportunity to introduce the country’s internationally-praised unique tourism products. We - the partners of F1 - will put our best effort in contributing to the success of F1, thereby creating the momentum for the tourism of Vietnam to achieve outstanding growth in the future.”

The 2020 Vietnamese Grand Prix includes 22 races, the most number of races in the history of F1. The race in Hanoi is predicted to attract about 300,000 attendees, including fans, foreign and domestic tourists, and numerous press agencies around the world.
Accompanying F1 Vietnam in all activities of the 2020 season, MIKGroup is the only “giant” to have its own grandstand in F1 Vietnam Grand Prix under the name “Hue - Matrix One”. “The Matrix One” is also the name of the “hottest” and most exclusive project in our capital invested by MIKGroup. The project is located right next to turns 6, 7, 8, and 9 with a direct view over the F1 racetrack.
